The torch utilises a unique Prism Reflector System for the optical lens, resulting in an even and undistorted spread of light when used as a floodlight and a far reaching and accurate spot beam when re-focussed for distance viewing over an effective range of in excess of 200 metres.

When compared to a incandescent (normal light bulb) torch of approximately equal light output over 200 hours of use, the LED Lenser P7 would consume zero light bulbs and only 8 batteries, whereas the traditional style torch would have consumed 80 batteries and 17 light bulbs.
